2006 results
The 9th Carrefour International du Bois, was held on the 31th of May and the 1st and 2nd June 2006 at La Beaujoire Exhibition Centre in Nantes.
The event totalled 468 exhibitors and 9,050 trade visitors. It benefitted from an extremely productive business atmosphere. Over the three days, the trade show executed its role as the timber trade marketplace to perfection, facilitated trade and providing an opportunity to make new contacts and do business.
A highlight of this year's event was the presence of Dominique Bussereau, Minister of Agriculture, demonstrating his support for the French timber industry and its future. A concerted effort saw politicians, national commercial personalities, chairmen and representatives from various timber trade organisations in attendance at the show's opening to mark the Minister's presence.
The Carrefour International du Bois also launched the Timber Techniques & Solutions area, a brand new space dedicated to products and innovations designed for timber professionals, particularly for use in the construction industry. Proving highly popular amongst visitors, this new area, combined exhibitors and technical conferences, including an evening conference at which the French architect, Véronique Klimine from R2K Architecture and a Swedish architect, Anders Svensson from White Architects both spoke about timber and sustainable development.
